Russian Darya Dugina Killed by Ukraine

Russian Darya Dugina Killed by Ukraine, Transatlantic Today

Russian(Washington Insider Magazine)-Alexander Dugina’s daughter, Darya Dugina, was killed in a car accident while traveling near Moscow over the past week. The incident was entirely unpredicted, as her car exploded when she was inside.

Her father, Alexander Dugin, is believed to be linked to President Vladimir Putin of Russia – holding a place as an advisor and prominent propagandist. This gruesome event gave rise to questions and interrogations about the incident.

Why did Darya Dugina die?

There was some mystery about the incident given her dad’s association with the president. As Russia investigated the incident, it became clear that this was an intentional attack against Ms. Dugina’s family. Citizens and officials speculated that it could have been an attempt on her father’s life rather than her own, as their travel plans for the day changed suddenly before the explosion.

Alexander and Darya Dugina were originally supposed to be travelling in the same vehicle. Russian officials recently confirmed that the attack was directed against Mr. Dugina rather than Darya, as she had little to no role in the Russian government when compared to her father. When the two had not traveled together, their plans were displaced – but it had been too late to halt the attack.

At this time, Russia has accused the Ukrainian government and the army of being the perpetrators of Darya Dugina’s death. Their claims are that the source of this violence stems from the undercurrent of radical uprising that’s been coming from Ukrainian citizens in the wake of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Who killed Darya Dugina?

Russian investigators are currently holding the belief that the incident sourced from a Ukrainian woman, who has yet to be named in the formal reports. Russian officials were able to deduce and hypothesize that the yet to be named woman was responsible for the attack due to her proximity to Ms.Dugina during the time leading up to the attack.

The woman had only moved a month earlier and, in this short period of time, had used multiple license plates to mask her identity, which triggered suspicion. There were multiple circumstances under which her movements also corresponded to Ms. Dugina’s.

Shortly after the incident with Ms.Dugina, the suspect fled the country and succeeded in travelling to Estonia. This was another piece of evidence that officials used to reinforce their claim that the attack was perpetrated by Ukrainian rebels.
