Kyiv (Washington Insider Magazine)- Russian’s attack on Ukraine is making things complicated for civilians. Many of them are under threat while the death toll is on the rise. According to the latest report nearly 14, 50 people have died while 8,292 are injured. However, it seems that the real number is even higher. In July the Russian air strike on the building killed four people hiding there. In the nearby Severodonetsk, another two civilians died as well. Further four were killed when Russian forces started a fire at Sadivska.
Hearing From The Victims
Victims are giving their thoughts on the current situation in Ukraine. They seem to be devastated by the happenings. Miss. Bogner who is from the city of Odesa in South Ukraine feels threatened due to this war. UN Human rights is monitoring the situation for some time now but failing to get good results.
According to a report at least 416 people have died while some of them are disappeared into Russian-occupied territory. Moreover, another sixteen were found dead while 166 have been released. The shocking fact is that 51 arbitrary arrests have happened.
The Ukrainian Law Enforcement body is trying to investigate 30 more cases. There is no surety how many died in Ukraine War as yet. The number that is reported in the media seems to be lower than the actual numbers. According to Ms. Bogner:
“We have documented arbitrary arrests and torture of individuals apprehended in the Russian-occupied Kherson region and transferred to Crimea’’.

Prisoners Of The War
The Mission is working on a wide range of violations against the prisoners of the war. There is still no access to the detention areas that are controlled by either Russia or Ukraine. Russia is trying hard not to give any access to the prisoners. According to Ms. Bogner:
“This is all the more worrying since we have documented that prisoners of war in the power of the Russian Federation and held by the Russian Federation’s armed forces or by affiliated armed groups have suffered torture and ill-treatment, and in some places of detention lack adequate food, water, healthcare, and sanitation’’.
Unfortunately, the situation at the penal colony that is located in the East is intense. Many prisoners from Ukraine are suffering from a wide range of diseases. The list includes hepatitis A, tuberculosis, and other deadly infections. Additionally, they are not allowed to contact any of their relatives.

Where Are People Dying?
It is reported that many people in the Southern and Eastern areas of Ukraine are dying. Some places are more affected as the Russian army has completely taken over them. The invasion first began along the Russian border. People are suffering due to violence and cannot do anything about it. There is an assortment of armed clashes and air strikes that is making things even more difficult.
This is the reason why it is difficult to report the actual number of deaths. According to another report by the media more than 10,000 deaths are occurred in Ukraine since the war began. Mariupol which is located in the southeast, Kharkiv and North-east Bilohorivka are the areas that suffer from heavy causalities.
Ms. Bogner from UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission continues to report facts about the victims. Here is what he has to say about the present situation: “We consider this to be an essential part of seeking to prevent further violations and to hold those accountable for the violations already committed.”
How Many Civilians & Soldiers Have Died?
During July around 3,600 civilians died. UN has confirmed the reports that the number went up to 4,700 in a few days only. It can be a challenge to report the correct number though, as the causalities look bigger than this. The UN plans to seek out the real number by checking with the hospitals and civil records. Sometimes patients die due to a lack of healthcare facilities.
The number of soldiers who are dying every day keeps increasing. This is something everyone is conscious of, but sadly no proper measures are taken to save them. Ukraine isn’t ready to give official information about the death of soldiers during this war.
In early June a senior from the Ukrainian presidential team reported around 100-200 soldiers are dying every day. While in April Russia was reported to have killed around 23,000 troops from Ukraine. However, Russia doesn’t disclose the real number of causalities in their areas. According to the figures released by Ukraine, around 35,000 Russians have died since June.
