Marsha Wedgeworth was born in Laurel, Mississippi on June 6th, 1952. She is 70 years old currently. Her parents are Mary Jo (Morgan) and Hilman Wedgeworth. They both have been working in sales and management. Marsha was a bright student when she got fourth place in a beauty pageant in high school. She attended Mississippi State University with the help of a 4-H scholarship. Being an intelligent student she managed to get a degree in Science and Home economics.

Career & Political Activities
Before completing her graduation Marsha worked as a sales manager for the Times Mirror Company. From 1975 to 1978 she kept working in the Castner Knott Division of Mercantile Stores, Inc. However, in 1978 she became an active owner of the marketing strategies. This was a promotion-event management firm where she continues to run a successful business.
Marsha entered into politics by joining the Williamson County Young Republicans. She has been the chairperson of the Williamson County Republican Party for a few years. In 1995 she got appointed as the executive director of the Tennessee Films and Music Commission. This is where she was taking care of the entertainment business commission by Tennessee governor Don Sundquist.
Fortunately, she got a strong hold in this position through 1997. The political success continues as Marsha became a member of the Tennessee Senate from 1998 to 2003. In 2000 she took an active part to prevent state income tax bills from coming into the State.
U.S House Of Representatives
In 2002, Marsha became a part of the Republican primary to have a congressional seat. She was an active candidate among four other members. The other three members include Mark Norris, David Kustoff, and Brent Taylor. During this time she was heavily supported by a conservative club for growth. This is how she managed to win by 20% points.
When she stepped her feet into the general election, once again the result was in her favor. She defeated Democratic nominee Tim Barron with 70% votes. Fortunately, she was reelected seven times in a row. The best part is that there was no opposition from any of the sides. She completed a successful tenure and finally moved to the U.S. Senate. Apart from that, she is actively working for Woman rights over the years.

Marsha Blackburn is married to Chuck Blackburn. They reside in Brentwood which is a suburb of Nashville in Williamson County. The couple is blessed with two children. She is an active member of the C Street Family. This is a prayer group that boasts many members from Congress. Apart from that, she is a former member of the Smithsonian Libraries Advisory Board.
