USA (Washington Insider Magazine) – Vice President Kamala Harris’s late entry into the presidential race has revitalized the Democratic Party, leading to a surge in fundraising and volunteer activities. In contrast, former President Donald Trump and his allies scrambled to craft effective attacks against Harris.
At a recent Trump rally, the usual anti-Biden merchandise was largely absent, signaling a shift in focus toward Harris. New items targeting her had yet to arrive, reflecting the rapid changes in the political landscape since President Joe Biden withdrew from the race last Sunday.
During a speech at a Bitcoin conference in Nashville, Trump labeled Harris as “a low I.Q. individual,” a phrase he previously used for Biden. At a subsequent rally in St. Cloud, he mocked Harris’s laugh and dismissed comparisons to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
A Wall Street Journal survey showed Trump with 49% support among registered voters, compared to Harris’s 47%, a statistical tie. Fox News polls in battleground states also reflected close contests, with Harris leading by six points in Minnesota.
Republican Attacks on Harris
According to WashingtonPost, Trump supporters at the rally criticized Harris’s role in the administration’s immigration policies and her liberal voting record. The pro-Trump MAGA Inc. super PAC launched ads attacking her on these issues.
At a fundraiser in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Harris emphasized her leadership qualities and countered Republican attacks. Her allies promote her achievements as a prosecutor, state attorney general, and vice president, with substantial financial backing from super PACs.
Harris’s campaign is targeting Trump’s running mate, Senator JD Vance, for past derogatory comments about Democrats. Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff and other Democratic leaders highlight Vance’s controversial remarks to bolster Harris’s appeal.
Harris’s campaign has received significant contributions, reversing previous financial challenges. Her Massachusetts fundraiser alone raised $1.4 million, reflecting renewed Democratic enthusiasm.
Across swing states, the Harris campaign hosts numerous grassroots events to engage supporters and evaluate potential running mates, including Governors Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania and Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan.
Trump’s Position on Cryptocurrency
Despite previously dismissing cryptocurrency, Trump has incorporated opposition to a Central Bank Digital Currency into his campaign, influenced by industry lobbying and donations.
At a Minnesota rally, Vance portrayed Harris as far-left and out of touch, with the crowd expressing confidence and concern about her candidacy. People who rallied, while critical of Harris, acknowledged the increased challenges in the race.
The presidential race has seen a notable transformation with Harris’s entry, energizing Democrats and compelling Republicans to adapt their strategies. As the election approaches, both parties intensify their efforts to secure victory.
