Hamas (Washington Insider Magazine)— The United States has blamed Iran for being “deeply involved” in aggression by Houthi rebels on commercial vessels in the Red Sea. The White House expresses Tehran is supplying Yemeni rebel groups with arms and tactical intelligence. On Friday, the White House said Tehran’s sponsorship of the Yemeni rebel group contains both weapons and tactical intelligence. It showed newly declassified intelligence claims to offer Iranian involvement in the attacks

“We know that Iran was deeply involved in planning the operations against commercial vessels in the Red Sea,” White House national security spokeswoman Adrienne Watson stated in a statement. “This is consistent with Iran’s long-term material support and encouragement of the Houthis’ destabilizing actions in the region.” “This is an international challenge that demands collective action,” Watson said.

The White House commented that visible analysis revealed nearly similar characteristics between Iran’s KAS-04 drones and the unmanned machines utilized by the Houthis. It also has constant components between Iranian and Houthi missiles.

The Houthis, who hold large territories of Yemen, including the capital Sanaa, have established dozens of drone and launched missile raids on commercial vessels in the Red Sea. The group has been expressed as a display of help for Palestinians confronting Israeli military activity in Gaza.

The attacks have rerouted much global trade by pushing freight businesses to float near Africa. Further, it imposes higher costs and uncertainties to energy, food, and consumer goods deliveries.

Due to the attacks, over a dozen shipping businesses, including the Italian-Swiss considerable Mediterranean Shipping Company, France’s CMA CGM, and Denmark’s AP Moller-Maersk, have discontinued transit via the Red Sea.

Earlier this week, Washington reported developing a multinational force, concerning more than 20 countries, to defend vessels transiting the Red Sea. Recently, a US guided-missile destroyer shot down 14 attack drones. It is believed to have been launched from Houthi-operated regions of Yemen.

On Tuesday, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin held an emergency meeting with defense officials from dozens of countries. It includes meeting with the European Union and NATO, to address what he called “reckless, dangerous” attacks that “violate international law.”

The Houthi leadership has cautioned that they will hit back at “American battleships” and “American interests” if they are deterred. Rebel leader Abdel-Malek al-Houthi warned Wednesday that if they were attacked, the rebels would strike back against “American battleships, American interests, and American navigation.”

Tehran has stated it helps the Houthis politically but refuses to send the group weapons.

Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs last month disavowed Israeli charges that the Houthis were operating with its directions. The event happened when Houthi took an Israeli-owned ship and restricted obligation for a drone hit down by a US guided-missile destroyer.

Over the last year, The Houthis, have maintained a United Nations-brokered ceasefire with the Saudi-backed government. Houthi went against the Yemeni government in 2014, starting a devastating civil war.

“Israel has pledged to eliminate Hamas. Its severe storm of bombardment and ground attack on Gaza has killed more than 20,000 people, most of them women and children,” according to Hamas authorities.
