US (Washington Insider Magazine) – A girl who was traveling with her family from the Turkish city of Istanbul to New York died during an emergency landing in Budapest, after presenting symptoms a few minutes after the trip to the United States began.
This Sunday afternoon, representatives of the Turkish Airlines company confirmed the death of a 12-year-old girl during a flight from the Turkish city of Istanbul to New York. The minor died after an emergency landing in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, where emergency teams tried to resuscitate her without success.
The minor’s relatives told the New York newspaper that she suffered from an unspecified illness. In addition, the medical personnel present on Turkish Airlines flight TK003 had stabilized the young woman in order to transfer her to a hospital in Budapest.
“The girl was stabilized with the support of doctors on the plane and now they are taking her to the hospital (…) The airline staff has been very effective in dealing with the emergency that arose while the first meals of an 11-hour flight were served“, published on Twitter the journalist and editor of the New York Newspaper and Opinion, Jesús García.
García explained that it is a family group that was made up of the mother, the stepfather, who stayed in Budapest to recover the body of the young woman, while the grandmother, a 9-year-old boy and two girls under five years of age they continued on their way to New York City. At the time this note was written, the plane is still in Budapest due to sanitary measures.
The Turkish news agency, Anadolu, stated in a note that the minor began to present symptoms shortly after the plane took off from Istanbul until she collapsed. The crew and the medical personnel present acted according to the emergency protocols to land at the Liszt Ferenc airport in Budapest. The doctor who managed to stabilize the young woman was a passenger who is a resident of New York.
The doctor told the New York Journal team that they tried to get the young woman to breathe again, but she was no longer receiving oxygen to her brain. “The airline staff have been very professional. They did the plane cleaning process,” Garcia said on Twitter.
