(Washington Insider Magazine)- The change came during Jerremy Renner’s recovery from orthopedic injuries the actor sustained when he was struck by a snowplow near his Nevada home on New Year’s Day.
Paramount+ removed the injuries from actor Jeremy Renner’s face in the commercial for the second season of ‘Mayor of Kingstown’.
Renner plays Mike McLusky, the incumbent mayor on the series from Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan, and originally appeared in the promotional image for the new season with a bloodied and bruised face.
Now, Paramount+ has made the decision to redistribute a softer version of the artwork that shows Renner’s face looking much better, as The Hollywood Reporter first reported.
Gone are the injuries to his character’s nose, chin, cheeks and forehead in the nearly identical image that shows him wearing a suit and standing in the courtyard of an empty and destroyed prison.
Renner’s Recovery From Blunt Chest Trauma
The change came during Renner’s recovery from blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries the actor sustained when he was struck by a snowplow near his Nevada home on New Year’s Day. The decision to remove visible injuries was out of respect for the American performer.
“It’s good for the network. Everyone is sensitive to Jeremy,” Hugh Dillon, co-creator of ‘Mayor of Kingstown,’ told The Hollywood Reporter.
According to Variety, the earlier version of the artwork was released in December, before Renner’s snowplow accident that left him in critical condition and required two surgeries.
Renner posted an update on his condition on his Instagram two days after his operation and shared a selfie of himself in a hospital bed.
In recent days, the two-time Oscar nominee shared on Twitter that he returned home after a two-week hospital stay to continue his recovery from there and watch the premiere of the second season of ‘Mayor of Kingston’, which will be aired on Sunday.
