Russian-Ukrainian War Update: Iran Joins the Fight

Russian-Ukrainian War Update: Iran Joins the Fight, Transatlantic Today

Russian(Washington Insider Magazine)-The latest Russian-Ukrainian war update offers us something that no one saw coming: Iran joining the fight.

In one of the most unexpected moves, Iran has become involved in its first major war on the European continent.

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps members have been found on the ground in Ukraine. They believe they are there to help Russian forces drop terrible kamikaze drones on cities and other infrastructure.

It’s caused quite a stir on social media as citizens of adjacent countries lift their voices and join the dissent:

There are other signs of Pro-Russian Iranian involvement as well. Nearly ten citizens of Iran have been reported dead during a Ukrainian attack on Russian positions by a Ukrainian official, which was then corroborated by an Israeli news report.

Another notable Russian-Ukrainian War update includes the preparatory sign of the attack. Intelligence is seeing that preparations are being made to increase what Tehran is sending to Russia by not only sending additional drones but also ballistic missiles.

This comes at a crucial time when Russia’s munitions have been dwindling. This comes simultaneously as Iran attempts to gain full control in the Middle East.

Hopefully, Tehran’s peak into power politics will push Western countries into making moves to counter Iran.

For now, though, Russia has found a supporter to help in its ongoing war against Ukraine. Since the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s, Tehran has poured a generous amount of money and effort into drone and missile programs. Due to this, they have been able to supply with Russia with hundreds of different types of drones.

One such drone is the Shahed-136 or called Geran-2, which is designed to kamikaze itself into its target. It was designed to take out stationary targets near the front lines of a war which has helped Russia target cities across Ukraine.

It has been estimated that nearly 40 percent of the Ukrainian electrical infrastructure and a portion of that is due to the Shahed-136. Energy rationing and massive blackout have followed.

Russia hopes that as winter approaches, it will erode Ukraine’s willingness to fight. Officials have stated that Tehran will provide Moscow with specific short-range ballistic missiles in an attempt for greater strategic impact and damage. This single-stage, solid propellant, mobile ballistic missiles are amongst the most precise in Iran’s ballistic missile arsenal. Their missile arsenal is the largest to be found in the middle east.

The Fatech-110 and Zulfiqar have been used by Iran in many military operations over the years.
