Israeli(Washington Insider Magazine)-The latest Israeli airstrikes have added to the bloodshed in the region, picking up quickly in the last quarter of the year.
In less than a week, the third airstrike has killed four people collaborating with Hezbollah.
Among the dead include, one Syrian Fighter – and the attacks have been attributed to Israel.
Additional strain noted due to the attacks was mostly centered around land disturbance and crops.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that weapons and ammunition depots were destroyed in the attack. One of the targets reposted about factory for Iranian missiles near the Damascus international airport. These attacks follow what is considered an Israeli act of aggression when Syrian air defenses destroyed missiles heading toward their capital.
The Israeli airstrikes prompted the Saudi news channel, Al-Arabiya, to report that the airstrike only targeted pro-Iranian sites, including a Revolutionary Guard’s headquarters and other sites involved with the Syrian army’s elite Fourth Division – which is known to be pro-Iranian.
Such strikes have been occurring for years against what is stated as Iranian and Iran-backed targets in Syria. These historical spots are earmarked where forces from Tehran were deployed against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s opponents since 2011.
News outlets in Saudi and other locations are claiming that Israel threatened Damascus and that it will increase its attack until Syria ends its cooperation with Iran. SANA, the national news agency for Syria, showed a video of the air defenses intercepting missiles and stated that there was property damage due to the attack.
Roughly 10 kilometers west of Damascus in the town of Asat Zeinab, four strikes were detected. According to a human rights watchdog, this is the 28th time since the start of the year.
Explosions could be heard all across Damascus earlier this week, which Syria attributed to air strikes and more Israeli aggression.
The targets included a Syrian air defense base in a Damascus suburb and a military air base used by Hezbollah.
According to the observatory, three Syrian soldiers were injured in the attacks. SANA reported on Friday that Syria’s air defenses responded to another Israeli missile attack in the southern part of the country and in Damascus. The Observatory stated that the targets included Syrian army sites as well as Iran-supported militias, and even a factory that produces Iranian-designed drones.
We will continue to provide updates about regional instability and attacks carried out as Israel continues to re-establish its sovereignty.
