Biography

Will Grier was born on April 3, 1995, in Davidson, North Carolina, USA. He grew up in a family of athletes; his father, Chad Grier, played college football at East Carolina, and his two older brothers, Nash and Hayes, played football in high school. Grier attended Davidson Day School, a private school in Davidson, where he began playing football at a young age.

 He quickly developed into a standout quarterback and led his team to three consecutive state championships. Grier’s success on the football field drew the attention of college recruiters. He ultimately chose to attend the University of Florida, where he played for the Florida Gators football team.

West Virginia University Football Career

Will Grier has a successful college football career at West Virginia University (WVU) as a quarterback. He transferred to WVU in 2016 from the University of Florida and had to sit out the 2016 season due to NCAA transfer rules. In 2017, Grier led WVU to a 7-6 record and threw for 3,490 yards, 34 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He also rushed for 3 touchdowns. Grier’s performance earned him a First-Team All-Big 12 selection and he was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year.

In 2018, Grier continued his strong play, throwing for 3,864 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions in just 11 games. He also rushed for 3 touchdowns. Grier has again been named a First-Team All-Big 12 selection and was a finalist for the Manning Award, given to the best quarterback in college football.

Grier decided to forgo his senior season and entered the 2019 NFL Draft, where he was selected in the third round by the Carolina Panthers. Overall, Grier’s two seasons at WVU were very successful, and he is regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in the school’s history.

Career In Florida Gators Football Team

Will Grier had a promising career as a quarterback for the Florida Gators football team, although it was cut short due to a suspension. Grier was highly recruited out of high school and chose to attend the University of Florida. He saw limited action as a freshman in 2014 but took over as the starting quarterback in 2015.

 He had a strong start to the season, leading the Gators to a 6-0 record, with wins over ranked opponents Ole Miss and Georgia. Grier was also named SEC Offensive Player of the Week twice during this time.

However, in October 2015, it was announced that Grier had tested positive for a banned substance and would be suspended for one year. He appealed the suspension, but it was ultimately upheld, forcing him to sit out the remainder of the 2015 season and the first six games of the 2016 season.

Dallas Cowboys

Grier was claimed off waivers by the Dallas Cowboys on September 1, 2021. On August 30, 2022, it was revealed that Grier was waived by the Cowboys. He signed to the practice squad the next day. Later Will was promoted to the active roster on October 5.

Carolina Panthers

Grier was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the 2019 NFL Draft. It was announced that Grier will make his first career start in week 16. He played against Indianapolis Colts and during the game, he threw for 224 yards. Grier rushed for 17 yards during the 38–6 loss. On August 31, 2021, Grier was no longer a part of the Panthers.

Salary And Net Worth

Will Grier was a quarterback in the NFL who was drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. He signed a four-year contract with the Panthers worth $3.8 million, which included a signing bonus of $997,020. In December 2020, Grier was waived by the Panthers and signed to the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad.

 It is not clear what his salary was during his time with the Cowboys, but practice squad players typically earn a minimum of $9,200 per week during the regular season. As for his net worth, it is difficult to estimate, as Grier’s career in the NFL has been relatively short so far. However, as of 2021, Celebrity Net Worth estimated his net worth to be around $3 million.
