UAE (Washington Insider Magazine) —The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has commenced a large-scale, three-week military exercise titled Desert Flag 9, featuring the participation of air forces from 10 countries.
Multinational Collaboration
The nations involved include Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, the United States, South Korea, France, the United Kingdom, and Germany, alongside the UAE.
In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Defence announced:
“Air forces from brotherly and friendly nations have arrived in the UAE’s territory to start the multinational joint exercise, Desert Flag 9, for the year 2024.”
The exercise, spanning various scenarios, is designed to enhance combat readiness, improve operational efficiency, and foster the exchange of military expertise among participating nations.
Training Objectives
The Ministry emphasized that Desert Flag 9 aims to simulate real-world combat environments through aerial drills, coordinated missions, and interactive lectures for military personnel. The drills highlight advanced tactics and strategies critical for joint operations.
Footage shared by the ministry on social media showed aerial sorties and the deployment of sophisticated equipment as the exercise began.
