(Washington Insider Magazine)-With Instagram Reels, Facebook Stories, and now Twitter Video, it seems like everyone wants to get a piece of the success that TikTok’s shared since its launch – hitting over 800 million active users.
What should marketers and users expect from the new rollout of the Twitter video feature?
The goal is to give users an even more immersive and comfortable experience – pulling them into the app for longer periods of time. You could suppose this is to bolster ad sales and brand awareness and to give users an option to enjoy higher-quality long-form content from their favorite creators and influencers.
We’ll see how it plays out in the marketing realm, however, as these shifts can often require new skills and new efforts to adapt and overcome the ever-changing algorithm.
Twitter video will allow you to scroll with an “endless scroll” user experience, exclusively on Twitter’s iOS app. The company mentioned that Android will soon have this feature, presumably as early as next month.
The Explore page now looks like the For You page, though – and social media users aren’t all thrilled about the changes.
Many have, ironically, taken to Twitter to voice their frustration at a new social media learning curve and harder-to-access Tweet functionality, which was the point of the platform in the first place.
Others are excited to have this fun new way to connect with their fan base and followers and are already planning their social media strategies.
No matter how users feel about the new Twitter video update, it’s clear that it will change the platform’s operation, style, and overall experience.
