PHOENIX, Arizona (Washington Insider Magazine) – Phoenix police stated Monday that a 16-year-old involved in the killing of another teen who worked at a McDonald’s where the crime occurred last week has surrendered himself.
According to the Phoenix Law Enforcement agency, Christopher Track, the alleged murderer, surrendered to authorities around noon Monday.
It’s unclear if prosecutors have drafted charges or if Track has legal representation.
According to family members and authorities, the shooting occurred at 10 a.m. March 2 in a toilet at the McDonald’s at 5120 W. Baseline Road in Phoenix, where the deceased, Prince Nedd, worked.
He was pronounced dead on the spot.
On March 4, Phoenix police revealed a security video showing a male carrying a gun, whom they identified as Track. Silent Witness, a charity that attempts to bring witnesses to the police, also circulated a “wanted” flier.
Track is thought to be actively hiding, according to a police report at the time.
Nedd got into a dispute with someone he knew before the shooting, according to detectives early in the case.
They haven’t asserted that Track was the other person involved in the fight.
According to NBC station KPNX of Phoenix, 2 employees at the eatery who were there when the incident occurred stated the shooter is another worker who had previously fought with Nedd.
The station did not identify Track as that employee but subsequently reported that he was the focus of coworker stories about Nedd’s turbulent connection with the individual.
According to KPNX, the victim’s family stated McDonald’s was his first workplace, and he had only been on the job for 2 months.
He was a student at Betty H. Fairfax High School as well as enjoyed playing football there, according to his friends.
Nedd’s elder sister, Aniyah Lindsey, told KPNX at a ceremony for the victim on March 3 that he was so happy about earning money from his 1st job that he would return home to ask if she wanted anything.
“He was excited to work there,” she claimed.
