Setting Yourself Up for A Productive Day

Setting Yourself Up for A Productive Day, Transatlantic Today

(Washington Insider Magazine) –

Quite frankly, we live in a world of distractions where a whole day can pass you by as you scroll on social media, compare yourself to others, and procrastinate your duties. Often we find ourselves seeking ways to be more productive and get more done throughout the day. Below you will find out how to set yourself up for a productive day and how to be more productive throughout the day with 3 simple tips!

Clear the Clutter

Many times we don’t know where to start on a project or are overwhelmed because of our environment or minds being cluttered. When it comes to clearing the clutter in your environment, aim to set up designated spaces that allow you to focus on your work and be efficient while doing so. This may mean investing in some organizational furniture to help you manage your files or a comfort piece to help you feel more at ease while you work. Whatever works best for you to clear off your desk, the piles you have laying around, and helps you get organized will ultimately help your productivity throughout the day as you won’t be searching for necessary items or files.

Plan Ahead

You’re also able to clear the clutter in your mind to be more productive throughout the day by planning ahead. Take a day each week to lay out your most important goals and break them into smaller steps. Then, each night before you go to bed, layout the next day by focusing on the top 3 things that need to be accomplished within the next 24 hours. You’ll be able to wake up with a purpose and determination rather than a wonder of what you’ll do that day.

Bonus Tip: Many of us lay awake at night with thoughts running through our head or important ideas may come to us in bed. Leave a notepad on your nightstand to where if you do have an important thought or idea, you’re able to write it down and get to it in the morning. Often we are anxious that we will forget and this will help you remember and ease your mind for a better night’s sleep.

Eat That Frog

As you’re planning ahead by laying out your day ahead of time with your top 3 priorities, one of the greatest productivity hacks to getting things done is to ‘Eat That Frog”. Brian Tracy, the author of the same-titled bestselling book, recommends that you do the largest, most daunting task on your to-do list first each day, and in essence, you ‘eat that frog’ to where everything else is icing on the cake. By doing so the task or project that you’re most likely procrastinating on will get done while you have the most focused energy in the morning and you’re able to focus on smaller projects later in the day.

Wrap-Up

Although we may live in a world of distractions, there are simple ways that you’re able to increase your productivity and set yourself up for success including clearing out the clutter from your environment and mind, planning ahead, and eating that frog first thing in the morning!
