KYIV, Ukraine (Washington Insider Magazine) – As the 7th day of Russia’s invasion repeatedly threatened to smash the nation’s major population centers with rising bloodshed and damage, Russia ramped up its attack on Ukraine’s 2nd-largest city Wednesday, with new attacks and paratroopers invading Kharkiv.
During his State of the Union speech, President Joe Biden cautioned that Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a “high price” for his conduct, and declared that the United States will block its airspace to Russian planes.
Russia looked to focus its onslaught on 4 major cities: Kyiv, Chernihiv, Mariupol, and Kharkiv, as a miles-long army convoy neared Ukraine’s capital.
