Queen Elizabeth tests positive for COVID, Transatlantic Today

LONDON (Washington Insider Magazine) – Buckingham Palace confirmed on Sunday that Queen Elizabeth has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the royal palace, the Queen, who is 95 years old, has been suffering from minor cold-like symptoms. In the following week, she is anticipated to perform minimal responsibilities.

According to the palace, she will continue receiving medical care and will adhere to all applicable regulations.

The monarch’s diagnosis follows after her son, Prince Charles, and his spouse, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, were both found to be positive for COVID-19. On February 10, Clarence House disclosed Prince Charles’ diagnosis, then Camilla’s on February 14.

Prince Charles, 73, has screened positive for COVID-19 for the 2nd time, the first time being in March 2020, when he was unvaccinated.

Queen Elizabeth, the United Kingdom’s longest-reigning queen, celebrated her 70th year on the throne with a series of virtual and also in-person activities this month, particularly one at Sandringham on Feb. 5, according to ABC NEWS.

The monarch, who went to Windsor Castle immediately after the reception, celebrated the commencement of the Platinum Jubilee with delegates from local community organizations in the ballroom at Sandringham House.

The queen’s 1st public appearance in person since October, when she was hospitalized for one night for “preliminary investigations,” according to the palace.

Queen Elizabeth’s itinerary was altered when her physicians recommended her to take it easy. Due to an injured back, she skipped the annual Remembrance Sunday Service for the 1st time in her rule in November.

Throughout the coronavirus epidemic, the queen had already altered her schedule, having virtual audiences and engaging in video conversations instead of attending public engagements.

Following pandemic limitations, the queen sat unaccompanied for the burial ceremony in St. George’s Chapel when her spouse, Prince Philip, died at the age of 99 in April.

In January 2021, both the Queen Of England and her late husband obtained their first COVID-19 immunization injections, according to Buckingham Palace.

According to the BBC, Prince Charles and his spouse, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, announced in December that they had both received their immunization booster shots.
