STOCKTON, California (Washington Insider Magazine)-According to the Stockton, California Police Department, one person appears to be responsible for five tragic killings that have occurred over the previous several months.
The first of the 5 killings happened on July 8, and investigators are looking for a person of interest connected to them. According to authorities, all of the victims were male and alone when they were shot to death.
All of the murders took place overnight or very early in the morning.
Only a few details, including the dates of the killings, were disclosed by the police: a 35-year-old man was fatally shot at 12:31 in the morning on July 8; a 43-year-old man was shot and killed at 9:49 in the evening on August 11; a 21-year-old man was shot and killed at 6:41 in the morning on August 30; a 52-year-old man was shot and killed at 4:27 in the morning on September 21; and
According to Stockton police, none of the victims were robbed, they were all ambushed, and none had anything to do with drugs or gangs. Police also disclosed to ABC News that they had tangible evidence connecting the five crime places.
Police withheld the names of the victims from the public, but Lorenzo Lopez, the most recent fatality, was identified by his family, according to Sacramento ABC station KXTV.
A $75,000 reward has been offered by the city of Stockton for information that results in an arrest in the inquiry. An additional $10,000 reward is being offered by Stockton Crime Stoppers.
Stockton police had stated at a news conference the day after Lopez’s murder that they were unsure if the string of homicides was connected.
But two days later, the agency connected the five homicides and issued a photo of a person of interest, which brought about a shift.
