Former Governor Greiten Called To Resign Amid Abuse Allegations

US (Washington Insider Magazine) – Former Governor Eric Greitens is currently running for U.S. Senate for the State of Missouri – but that may soon come to an end thanks to new allegations of abuse that have surfaced. Currently, his opponents and supporters alike are calling him out, requesting that he drop out of the race. It’s left many with the question of how these allegations surfaced, and how truthful they truly are.

The current slew of accusations comes from an affidavit publicized by his ex-wife, Sheena. This surfaced in relation to their child custody case currently being overseen by the State of Missouri, as she’s gone on record stating that Former Governor Greitens has been physically abusive to herself and one of their children. At the time of the alleged abuse, the child would have been just three years old.

It’s important to note that this is not the only set of accusations that are currently being posed against the former governor. Just a few years prior to this instance, additional accusations surfaced against Greitens, who was then accused of sexual misconduct with his hairdresser. There were also additional instances of blackmail that were reported, prompting a formal government investigation into his financial funding for his campaign by House investigators. The weight of the accusations eventually prompted Governor Greitens to drop out of the race.

This year, Former Governor Greitens had come out on top, leading the pack of other Republican candidates for the role that U.S. Senator Roy Blunt is retiring from. At the moment, his current party opponents include Eric Schmitt, Attorney General, and Dave Schatz, Senate President Pro Tem – among others.

As the information came out from Sheena Greiten’s affidavit, Former Governor Greitens took to social media and claimed complete innocence, stating that the allegations were not based in reality. He affirmed that the custody battle remains ongoing for the sake of their shared children, and has insinuated that Sheena is struggling in some fashion – stating that he hopes that she gets needed assistance.

Former Governor Greitens has been asked by many opposing candidates to resign from the race, stating that he is simply unfit to hold any form of public office. US. Representative Vicky Hartzler was quoted stating that Greitens appears to have a pattern of criminal behavior that is disruptive to the pretense of him holding any public office position, let alone something as public-facing as Senator.

Representative Hartzler has been vocally opposed to Former Governor Greitens running for office, frequently referencing his instance of initial deviance with his hairdresser. Other competitors take a more altruistic approach when referencing his history of missteps, such as Democratic candidate Spencer Toder. He was quoted stating that the former Greitan’s candidacy could be distracting from the true issues at hand in Missouri’s dynamic political landscape, and could dissuade attention from the real issues underlying the candidate’s role.

This is unsurprisingly disrupting Former Governor Gretians’ campaign, as similar allegations had also done with several prominent candidates in the past.
