WASHINGTON (Washington Insider Magazine)- Everyone in the media is talking about what happens if Putin nukes Ukraine. In the 21st century, the use of nuclear weapons is believed to be threatening. Even during the Cold War, it was clear that nuclear weapons can cause big destruction. Vladimir Putin continues to threaten Ukraine by planning to use these deadly weapons.
They plan to gain a military advantage on the field without wasting any time. Some prominent intelligence analysts believe that the probability of the use of tactical nuclear weapons has drastically increased. It is gradually increasing from 5% to 25% today.
Experts Are Not Convinced That Russian Leader Will Use Nukes
Experts are still not convinced that the Russian leader will use nukes against Ukraine anytime soon. However, new possible scenarios can unfold within these days. It seems that Putin is serious about using nuclear weapons if their ‘territorial integrity is threatened. All these things have sparked up deep discussion in the West. Many are wondering how the USA and other members of NATO are going to react.
During a recent television address this Wednesday, Putin made everyone believe that he is not bluffing. At least 300,000 forces are already reserved to fight against Ukraine. This is what he has to say:
“Those who are trying to blackmail us with nuclear weapons should know that the wind can also turn in their direction. “This is not a bluff.” However, analysts are still not convinced that he will unleash any nuclear weapons. Since the time the US dropped two atomic bombs on Japan, things have become different.

What Will Russia Like To Target?
Many experts believe that the use of the tactical nuclear bomb in Ukraine will be very frightening. It is better to surrender and plan to negotiate with one another. However, the Russian leader is in no mood to negotiate currently. Some analysts from the West have divided opinions on this matter.
Moscow can try to send out a strong message of negotiation and avoid such causalities. If they drop a nuclear bomb on water or explode it some other way, it can cause a high level of destruction. The electronic waves can knock out Ukraine and will kill many people. If Putin does try and attack the Ukrainian military base it will generate mass causalities. Moreover, it will kill the political leadership in Ukraine.
According to Jon Wolfsthal, a former White House nuclear policy expert: Such situations “would likely be designed to split the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) alliance and global consensus against Putin. “It is unclear if it would succeed, and could just as easily be seen as desperation as resolve,” he said.

How Should The West Respond?
It seems that the West is trying to remain calm on this issue. How they react to a nuclear strike is not clear yet. The US and NATO are strong enough to combat this threat. However, they will like to avoid the possibility of a nuclear war occurring that leads to disaster. Not even a single NATO member will like to promote a devastating global nuclear war.
For now, the west doesn’t have any option not to respond to the nuclear attack from Russia. They believe in giving a response as a group. The United States has as strong back from NATO members and is not alone. It seems that the US is already using 100 of its tactical nuclear weapons. While the other members will not stay away from working against the Russian forces. A bigger threat is that some NATO members may reject the nuclear response altogether. It will serve the purposes of the Russian leader.
Should Ukraine Use More Powerful Nuclear Weapons?
Ukraine should use a powerful nuclear attack to prevent the Russian forces from further destruction. They can use the conventional military or go the diplomatic way. However, they still don’t have enough supply of weapons to deal with this lethal attack from Russians.
According to Kroeing: “Russian nuclear use might provide an opening to convince countries that have so far been reluctant – such as India and possibly even China – to participate in escalating sanctions’’. Additionally USA can offer a NATO aircraft to Ukraine. If this isn’t enough Ukraine can use Patriot and THAAD anti-missile batteries.
ATACMS are long-range missiles that Ukraine can use to stop a strike from the Russian army. It is better if Ukraine can try and put all the restrictions away and come back in full form. Currently, Russia has an estimated 5,977 nuclear warheads. They have deployed 1,588 warheads on intercontinental missiles.
