US (Washington Insider Magazine) -Democratic Party leaders quickly dismissed any notion that President Biden should step aside following his unsteady showing at the first presidential debate. However, a sense of concern lingered on Capitol Hill Friday morning, as lawmakers considered the potential impact on Biden’s re-election campaign and their own chances in upcoming races.
“We have a strong team that will help govern,” stated Representative Ro Khanna, a Democrat from California and a Biden surrogate focused on engaging young voters. “That’s the message I’ll continue to push.”
When pressed about whether he could personally vouch for the president, Khanna responded, “I can vouch for our policies.”
