(Washington Insider Magazine)  Dayshawn Vaughns was captured in a house in Columbus, Georgia, who was returned to New York for his involvement in the shooting that took place in Brooklyn and left two dead and one wounded.

The second gunman of the two charged in a July 4 shooting in Brooklyn that left two dead and a third wounded has been arrested in Georgia, police said Saturday.

Identified as 22-year-old Dayshawn Vaughns, he was located at a home in Columbus, Georgia, by the NYPD’s Violent Crimes Squad, he was captured at that location on Wednesday.

Authorities brought the Queens resident back to New York late Friday, where he will be indicted on murder charges.

The victim, 21-year-old Sulaiman Odunfa, was shot in the head and died at the scene.

For his part, 19-year-old Amir Green was injured in the neck and was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The third victim, an 18-year-old boy, was hit in the upper body and survived.

Prosecutors argued that prior to the violent events, Vaughns and the other shooter, Malachi Kirkland, argued with the three victims, the former shooting Odunfa while the other shot Green as the survivor, officials said.

Kirland was captured at the site. Police officers found him hiding in a back room when they arrived. He was also ordered held without bail at his arraignment and is behind bars on Rikers Island.

On the other hand, Vaughns ran away from there. When the agents managed to identify him, he had already fled New York.

Police found three weapons at the scene, the Daily News reported.

Detectives presume the shooting was gang-related. Kirland belonged to a criminal gang. Vaughns’ gang affiliation was not released at this time. Odunfa was a gang member, New York officials said.

Green was not part of a gang and had no prior record or arrests, authorities said.

Vaughns’ arraignment is pending in Brooklyn Criminal Court.

The shooting was one of the violent events that capped the July 4 holiday in which 21 people were shot in the city, three of whom died, the New York police said.
