Will There Be A Twindemic?

(Washington Insider Magazine) -This year, many people are concerned about the cold and flu season, especially in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. With more people getting vaccinated, there seemingly is less concern. However, it’s important to mention that many individuals worldwide spent much of last winter locked down due to significant spikes in the pandemic. Now, experts are saying that there’s a possibility of a twindemic.

How Bad Will the Flu Season Be?

On the record, there were not as many significant flu cases as there were in recent years in 2020. The numbers were significantly downgraded from what they usually are, signaling that there might be a surge of another flu virus that could be more dangerous than in the past. The flu seemed to vanish in 2020, but that doesn’t mean it will not come back and is a much more aggressive form this year.

Is There Going to Be Another Coronavirus Wave?

Experts are saying that we’re not out of the coronavirus pandemic yet. Many people are turning to the fact that there are a significant number of people that are still not vaccinated, and these are the individuals who are likely going to be able to spread the virus at a much more intense rate. However, it’s probably not the case for those with natural immunity because they’ve already been infected. People worldwide are concerned about the coronavirus. As with the compared 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic, many people are saying that another wave is on the rise.

How Do I Protect Myself if the Twindemic Happens?

There are several ways you can protect yourself this year if the flu season is nearly as bad as coronavirus waves have been. First, many experts and medical professionals state that getting the flu and coronavirus vaccines are the first step to protection. Other than that, people can turn to general hygienic practices and be more vigilant this year to ensure that they and their family and friends are safe.

The bottom line is, even if there is a twindemic, you can take steps now to protect yourself by getting the vaccine and making sure that you are protected from all that might happen. Even if you don’t get sick, at least you’re covered, and you were protecting those around you too.
