Trump is the President (Again). Here’s what that could mean for Hollywood.

So, as we all know Donald Trump is the President of the United States again and now Hollywood elites have threatened to leave the country including Barbara Streisand, Cher and America Ferrara. Many Americans, including some Hollywood stars, are fed up with liberal media being classified as mainstream and being force-fed ideas to satisfy the hunger of minorities rather than making worthwhile stories

With that being said, there are a couple of ways that Trump’s presidency can affect Hollywood forever.

Let’s start with the fact that there is a red wave, not only in Hollywood, but also in the United States. It’s possible that Hollywood will finally see a shift in media coverage and films being made that will pivot to a more conservative field. Given that audiences are tired of the woke rhetoric that is consistently being espoused over mainstream media, it’s obvious that people are going to be tired of being told what to think and feel. Moreover, audiences, specifically, men, are getting very tired of being belittled and emasculated by their female counterparts in the media and beyond.

Many aggrieved men have expressed their disdain for mainstream media constantly demonizing men and, at the same time, putting women on a pedestal, as if to say that women seem better than men. That is not progressive. That is pedestalizing one subset of people while putting another group to the side to clap them on like cheerleaders.

Eventually, people will get tired of that narrative and want to go in a différent direction. The box office performance should be more than enough to make a change, as movies like The Marvels, Birds of Prey and Ghostbusters (2016) all bombed at the box office. In another reality, these films might have fared better on Netflix.

Another idea of what could happen in Hollywood might be much worse than the former. Given that many celebrities are threatening to leave the country because Donald Trump is now President again, we could be seeing an Exodus of stars, which would see a decline in movies and less content being pushed out to audiences.

Hollywood will have to see a restructuring of movies and television shows being made and be very careful of what they decide to greenlight and will be more choosy about their projects in the future if celebrities are less likely to work in America because of the now-President.

What could be another challenge and possibility would be Hollywood packing up camp and shooting their films in a différent country just to appease the actors who are too stubborn to work in the states.

All in all, Hollywood seems like it might be headed in a better direction than people think now that Trump is in the White House again. It could create a shift in content where studios focus on good storytelling rather than identity politics or it could see a decline in content which will outrage fans that have the attention span of a fly. Time will only tell what Trump’s presidency will do for the film industry.
