U.S.(Washington Insider Magazine) – US President-elect Donald Trump has claimed that major Silicon Valley executives—including Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos—are now eager to meet with him, marking a shift from the tensions of his first term.
During a press conference at Mar-a-Lago on December 16, 2024, Trump highlighted this dramatic change in attitude, stating:
“Everybody was fighting me. This term, everybody wants to be my friend.”
Tech Giants Seeking Trump Meetings
Trump revealed that Mark Zuckerberg, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, and top Wall Street executives have also been in discussions with him. Bezos is scheduled to meet with Trump this week.
Trump characterized the outreach as a sign of his growing influence, saying:
“The top executives, the top bankers, they’re all calling. It’s like a complete opposite from the first one.”
Trump’s Stance on TikTok and Tech Policy
Despite his previous efforts to ban TikTok, Trump reaffirmed his support for the platform, a surprising reversal that could reshape US policy on Chinese-owned tech companies.
Health Secretary Appointment: Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Trump also defended his controversial pick of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Health Secretary, despite Kennedy’s history of vaccine skepticism.
While acknowledging the importance of the polio vaccine, Trump suggested that his administration would investigate the link between vaccines and autism, a claim widely debunked by scientific experts.
“He’s going to be much less radical than you would think,” Trump assured.
A New Era for Trump and Silicon Valley?
Trump’s remarks suggest a strategic realignment with the tech industry, an area where he previously faced significant opposition. As Silicon Valley leaders engage with Trump, the future of Big Tech regulation under his presidency remains uncertain.
