They detained three of the 127 Venezuelan migrants deported from the United States

US (Washington Insider Magazine) —Venezuelan authorities detained three of the 127 Venezuelan migrants who were deported from the United States and who arrived at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquería, near Caracas, this Friday. Remigio Ceballos, Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, indicated that these citizens were requested by the Police Investigation and Information System and assured that they will be guaranteed due process and respect for their human rights.

“Three of the people who arrived were detained because they were wanted by Siipol,” the official reported on his account on the social network X, formerly Twitter, where he shared photographs showing the people who ended up detained.

Remigio affirmed that the repatriated citizens received attention and social assistance from the Venezuelan State “in terms of health, psychology and transfer.” He also indicated that they recorded his alleged complaints of mistreatment received during his detentions in the United States.

The minister also said that citizens were tested to rule out Covid-19 and malaria infections. In addition to other medical examinations, identity verification and social approach, as part of the comprehensive care protocol for Venezuelans.

“We welcome them with open arms, we continue to raise the flag of dignity, care and guarantee of their rights, to the repatriated Venezuelan brothers, who will always have the full support of the Bolivarian government,” he stated.

The deportation of the first group of 127 Venezuelans is part of an immigration agreement signed by the governments of the United States and Venezuela for an “orderly, safe and legal” process. The people were received by the Bolivarian National Police, the Bolivarian National Guard and the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service.

Deportation flights were not possible until now, because Washington and Caracas broke diplomatic relations in 2019 and the country is subject to economic sanctions, Efe noted.

According to official data, with the Vuelta a la Patria plan, more than 342,000 Venezuelans, who were allegedly experiencing difficulties abroad, returned to their country in the last few hours.
