(Washington Insider Magazine)-In case you missed it, Taylor Swift is back with a new album coming out on October 21st.
No, you aren’t dreaming – there’s a new Taylor Swift album dropping in just seven short weeks.
This album, titled “Midnights,” is set to be a 13-track lineup of heartbreaking anthems centered around some of the deepest and most profound moments of Swift’s life thus far – navigating wins, breakthroughs, and the lowest of lows – penned from her kitchen floor, the studio, and other small corners of her favorite places.
She announced the drop after receiving her Video of the Year award at the MTV Video Music Awards late last night. Her acceptance speech came as a shock to many Swifties and theorists, who had thought that her next drop would be the ever-elusive Karma album or a sister record to Evermore and Folklore; which many believed to be titled Woodvale. Other options included a new list of EPs or another set of re-recordings, most likely to be Reputation or Debut based on her current legal issues with 1989 and Speak Now.
Taylor Swift continues to defy the odds with immense precision, leaving fans “Easter eggs” to seek out in her clothing, social media posts, and presence both on and offline. The new Taylor Swift album drops on National Reptile Awareness Day and Kim K’s birthday – alluding to the famous feud between members of the Kardashian-West family and Swift that fueled the Reputation era with such vigor.
Now, Taylor appears to have put that behind her – nodding to her past in light of her recent success at the MTV Awards and beyond. The singer recently dropped her Red album re-recordings, releasing with it a 10-minute version of her song that wasn’t originally allowed on the album by producer and manager Scooter Braun. The video garnered national attention and won her several notable awards, signaling her breakthrough into a new form of video artistry and directing.
Fans are counting the minutes on social media until the #MeetMeAtMidnight era begins…or until Taylor drops a surprise single off of her new album.
