Meteorologist Attacked By Teens In Manhattan Subway

(Washington Insider Magazine) Adam Klotz would have told in his Instagram stories that he was on a train in Manahattan when he saw a group of young people harassing a homeless man and when he came to his defense, the criminals hit him several times all over his body.

Group of Teenagers

A Fox News weather forecaster was brutally beaten by a group of teenagers while trying to stop them from harassing a homeless man in the Manhattan subway on Sunday morning, authorities said.

Meteorologist Adam Klotz, 37, recounted the shocking attack on his Instagram stories, where he appeared bruised and bruised in both eyes as he described how he was on his way home on a train after an NBA playoff game. NFL when he observed that “this older gentleman was being hassled by this group of seven and eight teenagers.”

“I was like, ‘Hey guys, drop that.’ And they decided: ‘Okay, if he’s not going to get it, you are going to get it. And boy did they give it to me,” Klotz said. “They had me on the ground. My ribs are also bruised. They got their hits.”

Law enforcement sources reported that Klotz was on a No. 1 train at about 1:15 a.m. when he confronted the young offenders, who may have been smoking marijuana at the time.

The suspects escaped from the train at the 18th Street station after the attack, but three of them, two 15-year-olds and one 17-year-old, were soon apprehended by NYPD, the sources said.

Although the police released the three young men.

“Juvenile reports were prepared and their parents were called to pick them up,” an NYPD representative said Sunday.

It’s unclear why the trio were released without facing charges, but a police spokesman said the department didn’t have that option because of their ages and the crime involved a misdemeanor.

A spokesman for the city’s Law Department, which prosecutes juvenile crimes in New York, said in an email that the victim will need to file a complaint with the Probation Department before being involved. From there, it will be forwarded to the Legal Department for prosecution.

The 17-year-old may have been charged as an adult before the state’s “Raise Age” law, which went into effect in 2019. The revised legislation raised the age for a youth to be charged as an adult from 17 to 18.

Klotz received treatment for his injuries at Bellevue Hospital.

At the beginning of his Instagram stories, the meteorologist half-joked: “You should see the other guy.”

“My side, don’t laugh, my side is much worse than my face. And the thing is, the other guy isn’t really a guy. They are children. Five or six children.”

Where are the parents?” Klotz said. “Parents, take care of your children.”

About the man he was defending, he said: “Okay.”

“And the police caught a couple of these kids and, you know, they X-rayed me. I’m fine. All of this will heal. So everything is fine.”

Klotz, who is originally from Indiana, added: “New York City! What a place The Big Apple.”
