IS claims killing of 2 in Israel

TEL AVIV, Israel (Washington Insider Magazine)  – After a pair of Arab assailants killed 2 individuals and injured four others in central Israel before getting killed by police, the extremist Islamic State took responsibility on Monday.

Israeli police officials were among the 2 killed in the Hadera attack on Sunday night, according to officials.

This was the second fatal attack by Arab terrorists in Israel in under a week, just before the Muslim holy month of Ramadan began. According to authorities, a lone attacker motivated by the Islamic State killed 4 individuals in a stabbing spree in southern Israel on Tuesday before being killed by bystanders.

According to ABC NEWS, the strikes threatened to put a pall over a meeting of international leaders in the Negev desert, in which the Iranian nuclear agreement was due to take center stage. Naftali Bennett, the Prime Minister of Israel, rushed to the site of the killings in Hadera.

In a statement on its Aamaq news agency, the Islamic State claims full responsibility for the attack, claiming that 2 IS militants killed 2 Israeli security officers.

After testing positive for the coronavirus, Israel’s prime minister released a statement from his residence. He warned everyone to be cautious. On Tuesday, police were due to set up roadblocks on major highways.

The fasting month of Ramadan is set to start on Saturday. During the holy month of Ramadan last year, confrontations between Muslim demonstrators and Israeli police escalated into an 11-day battle between Gaza’s Hamas rulers and Israel.

The attacks drew condemnation from governments all across the world.

“Such senseless acts of violence and murder have no place in society,” US State secretary Antony Blinken tweeted after attending the Negev meeting with Israeli Foreign Affairs minister Yair Lapid and foreign ministers from 4 Arab nations.

The attack was hailed as a “heroic operation” by Hamas, the Islamic extremist group that controls Gaza.

Two bearded males appeared to start shooting in Hadera before being shot, according to security footage surfacing on Israeli media. Two officers of the Israeli Border Police counterterrorism team were at a restaurant near the shooting when the attackers were killed, according to an Israeli official.

MADA, the Israeli rescue agency, reported the deaths of 1 woman and one man, as well as the injuries of 4 people, two of whom were critically injured. It uploaded videos of the scene, which showed a significant number of ambulances and police vehicles.

Despite its territorial loss more than 3 years ago, IS has recently increased assaults on security forces in Syria and Iraq, which it has conducted through sleeper cells. The terrorist organisation has previously claimed assaults against Israeli forces and has affiliates in Asia, Afghanistan, and beyond.
