(Washington Insider Magazine)-Social media has continued to be a point of controversy across the internet, as more people struggle with their mental wellness. For many, social media can be a touch point of difficulties as more deal with comparison issues, body image concerns, and an over-dependence on filters. Influencer and personality Gabbie Hanna is the latest example of these concerns brought to life, filming a mental breakdown in a live stream format over the past few days.
Gabbie, who at one point claimed to be God, Jesus, and Mary incarnate has concerned fans and acquaintances alike – garnering national attention for her off-color TikTok’s and (even more) concerning captions.
Many TikToks, which have since been deleted, alluded to casual themes of racism, sexism, and generally inappropriate themes – oscillating between her ridiculing her thousands of fans and falling into a god-complex state, stating that she could teach her fans how to truly change the world in preparation for the coming of Christ.
Fans of all religions and belief systems gathered together in the comments of each video, urging Gabbie to get off of social media and take part in self care – many of which believed she was going through some sort of a mania or mental health episode.
Gabbie Hanna was reported to police by neighbors and concerned fans, calling for wellness checks to the LA native’s apartment. As police would come, Gabbie would dismiss them, stating that she was not a risk to herself or anyone else. She would then record the experience on social, posting TikTok’s making crude jokes and comments about the fans that would call.
The pattern continued until it appeared to break over the weekend.
Now, Gabbie has made comments that she is in an artistic flow of some kind, stating that she is working to inspire the world with her story and abilities.
Fans remain concerned as the star posts increasingly off-color videos.
