Donald Trump Faces Federal Court in Miami for Classified Documents

US (Washington Insider Magazine) –  Former President Donald Trump’s legal team told him he was indicted over an investigation involving hidden classified documents. Trump reported that he will have to appear before a federal court in Miami

Former US President Donald Trump said Thursday that his legal team told him he was charged in an investigation involving his handling of classified documents.

In a post made on his social network, Truth Social, Trump assured that he has been summoned to appear before a federal court in Miami on Tuesday afternoon.

“I never thought it possible that this could happen to a former president of the United States, who has received more votes than any president in the history of our country, and who is leading, by far, all the polls for the 2024 presidential election. , outpacing Democrats and Republicans. I AM AN INNOCENT MAN!” Trump said on the Truth Social platform.

Trump added that this was a “dark day” for the United States. “We are a rapidly declining country, but together we will make America great again (his motto: “Make America Great Again”).

According to information from The Hill, attorney Jack Smith has been overseeing the investigation into Trump’s handling of classified documents since November of last year.

It is not yet known what charges were officially brought against former President Trump, but this is the first time that criminal charges have been brought against a former president.

On June 6, federal prosecutors informed Trump’s legal team that the former president was being investigated for mishandling classified documents that were found after a search of his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

For his part, Trump has defended himself by arguing that he had the right to take the documents and that he could declassify them without the need for a formal process.

At Mar-a-Lago, Trump had approximately 300 documents with classified marks. Likewise, the authorities have found evidence that the former president handled confidential documents, including an audio in which Trump clearly speaks of a classified document, as well as videos of workers moving boxes with documents.

Trump’s defense has ensured that the former president has received “unfair treatment” in this matter.
