Bangladesh Armed Forces Visit USINDOPACOM for Bilateral Defense Dialogue

he U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) hosted a delegation from Bangladesh’s Armed Forces for the 11th edition of the Bilateral Defense Dialogue from December 10-12, 2024. The delegation, led by Brig. Gen. Md Alimul Amin, Director General of the Operations & Plan Directorate of the Armed Forces Division, and U.K. Royal Navy Commodore Jonathan Lett, Deputy Policy Director at USINDOPACOM, discussed a wide range of topics. These included bilateral and multilateral military exercises, defense exchanges, capability development, and military education.

During their visit, the delegation toured the Hawaii Emergency Operations Center and the U.S. Coast Guard Base in Honolulu at Sand Island. These visits were integral in strengthening the defense and security partnership between the two nations and deepening mutual understanding of critical areas such as crisis response, peacekeeping operations, disaster relief, and humanitarian assistance.

The enduring U.S.-Bangladesh defense relationship is built on cooperation and mutual respect, with both countries continuing to engage in collaborative efforts aimed at regional security and stability.
